Early test phase · Gmail

Spot scam emails before you pay.

Scammers now use AI to write convincing fake invoices, payment reminders and “urgent” requests. BackScan quietly checks your inbox in the background and warns you when a message looks like a scam.

The problem

Fake invoices

Bills for services you never ordered, made to look like they come from a real supplier.

Fake services

Offers and “renewals” for domains, listings or subscriptions that don't exist.

Written by AI

No more spelling mistakes to give them away. Today's scams read just like real business mail.

How it works

  1. Connect your Gmail

You sign in with Google and grant BackScan read-only access. You can remove that access at any time.

  2. We check new mail

BackScan looks at incoming messages for the signs of payment scams and fake invoices.

  3. You get a warning

If a message looks suspicious, you're told before you pay, along with the reason why.

Privacy is the product

BackScan reads email so that you don't get tricked, and it treats that access with care.
